The University of Cambridge is a collegiate public
research university in Cambridge,England. It was established in 1209 by the scholars from Oxford. The University of Cambridge is
the second-oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world’s

This University has 114 libraries. The Cambridge University Library is the central research library,which holds over 8 million volumes. It is a legal deposit library. It is entitle to request the free copy of every book published in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Not only the University and its dependents,almost every faculty,department,or school have each library.For example, The History Faculty has Seeley Historical Library which holds more than 100,000 books.

Its botanic garden is The Cambridge University Botanic Garden which created in 1831.
The Cambridge University also has The University of Cambridge Sports Centre, it opened in August 2013. Phase 1 includes a 37x34m Sports Hall, a Fitness Suite, a Strength and Conditioning Room, a Multi-Purpose Room and Eton and Rugby Fives courts. Future developments will include Squash courts, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a swimming pool.
The University also has an Athletics Track at Wilberforce Road, an Indoor Cricket School and Fenner’s Cricket Ground.
Student life of Cambridge University,such as :
Student Union called The Cambridge University Student's Union serves to represent all the student within the University which automatically become members upon arrival. It was founded in 1964 as the Student Representative's Council.
Sport. Cambridge University has many sport competitions especially against Oxford like Bumps race,boat race. It has also Varsity Matches which against Oxford in many sports from cricket and rugby,to cheess and tidlywinky.
Societies.The Cambridge Union serves as a focus for debating. Drama
societies include the Amateur Dramatic Club (ADC) and the comedy club,Footlight, which are known for producing
well-known show-business personalities. The Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra explores a
range of programmes, from popular symphonies to lesser known works,membership
of the orchestra is composed of students of the university.
Newspaper and Radio. The newspapers of Cambridge University are Varsity,The Cambridge Student, Cambridge Globalist (News and Culture Magazine), The Tab (Cambridge Student Tabloid). Its Radio is Cam FM,which provides members a chance to produce or to show weekly and promotes their broadcast journalism,Sport coverage,comedy and drama.
The Cambridge University's motto is "Hinc lucem et pocula sacra" means "From this place,we gain enlightenment and precious knowledge"
