ETH Zurich
ETH Zurich (German) or Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich is an engineering, Science, technology, mathematics, and management University. Here are some Informations about ETH Zurich.
ETH Zurich was founded in 1854 in Zurich,Switzerland by the Swiss Confederation and starts its first lectures in 1855 as Polytechnic Institute. ETH is a Federal Institute, means that it is under direct administration by Swiss government.
ETH Zurich has two Campuses. The main building was built in 1861-1864 under Gustav Zeuner. During the construction,the south wing of the University is allocated for the University until its own campus finished in 1912-1914.
The another campus was built from 1864-1976 on the Honggerberg. The last major expansion of this new campus was completed in 2003. Since that the Honggerberg becaome the campus of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science and Physics.
An extensive project called "Science city" for the Honggerberg campus was started with the goal to transform the campus int the attractive district. It established in the ETH Zurict 150th anniversary.

ETH Zurich has 6 Faculties. They are Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Forestry, and Mathematics. Now ETH Zurich has 15 Departments.
ETH student was found to be the busiest student of all institutions of higher education in Switzerland. ETH has well over 100 student associations. The most notable is the VSETH which comprises all department associations. The VSETH organizes events of greater public attention, such as the Pollyball.
There are several student associations. The most notable of those are the Entrepreneur Club Zurich and ETH Model United Nation.
The Academic Sports association of Zurich (ASVZ) offers more than 80 sports. Superkondi is the most popular sport among those. The biggest annual sports event is the SOLA relay race which consist of 14 sections over a total distance 140 kilometers.
The one of traditions in ETH is The Polyball. The Polyball is the prestigious public event at ETH,it has a long tradition since the 1880s. The Polyball is the biggest decorated ball in Europe. At the end of November.it welcomes around 10,000 dancers,Music lovers and animal party in extensively decorated main building of ETH.
Since 1951,there has been an annual rowing match between ETH Zurich and the neighbouring of Zurich.
